Where exactly is the Tuxerhof located?

The Tuxerhof is located in Vorderlanersbach, a district of the municipality of Tux in the upper Zillertal valley – at an altitude of approximately 1,300 meters. Situated directly at the valley station of the Rastkogelbahn cable car, the hotel offers the ideal starting point for exploring the mountain and glacier world around Tux and Hintertux, both in summer and winter.

What's the best way to get to Tuxerhof?

Tuxerhof can be reached via the Zillertalstraße B169 to Mayrhofen and then via the Tuxerstraße L6; it is located directly at the entrance to the Tuxertal valley in Vorderlanersbach.

Are there parking spaces directly at the hotel, and are they subject to a fee?

There is free parking around the Tuxerhof; we are happy to assist you upon arrival and park your car for you. Alternatively, subject to availability, you can book a parking space in our hotel's underground garage or private home garage in advance for a fee.

Can I charge my electric car?

Our hotel's underground parking garage has three charging stations where you can charge your electric car for a fee. Alternatively, we recommend the Supercharger at the Tux Center, just a 3-minute drive from your holiday home.

How far away are the nearest airport and train station?

The nearest train station is in Mayrhofen – we would be happy to pick you up from the station with a hotel transfer. Should you require transportation from Jenbach train station, we would be pleased to assist you in booking a transfer.

The nearest airports are in Innsbruck, Salzburg or Munich. We are also happy to assist you with airport transfers from these locations.

Where are the nearest shops and pharmacies around Tuxerhof?

Right next to the Tuxerhof are two supermarkets – Mini M and Braunegger – and in Tux-Lanersbach there is also a SPAR supermarket. For sportswear, shoes, and equipment, the sports shop Insider next door and Bennis Sportmoden in Lanersbach are recommended.

The nearest pharmacy is in Mayrhofen. A small pharmacy is also available at Dr. Peer's medical practice in Juns.

Are there any excursion destinations near the hotel in the Zillertal valley?

Yes, the Zillertal valley offers numerous worthwhile destinations around the Tuxerhof. Popular highlights include the Spannagel Cave at the Hintertux Glacier, the Ginzling Nature Park House, the impressive Schlegeis Reservoir with its suspension bridge and panoramic views, and the Zillertal Dairy Adventure Center in Mayrhofen. Waterfalls, scenic roads, and themed trails also invite you to discover the diverse attractions of the region.

Which mountain railways are accessible from the hotel?

Right next to the Tuxerhof is the valley station of the Rastkogelbahn cable car – your gateway to the Zillertal 3000 ski and glacier world. The free ski bus or sports bus will also take you to the Finkenberger Almbahn, the Eggalmbahn, and the Hintertux glacier lifts in just a few minutes.

Is the Hintertux Glacier ski resort nearby?

Yes, the Hintertux Glacier is only about a 10-minute drive from the Tuxerhof and can be easily reached with the free ski bus.

Travel comfortably to Tux

Arrival by public transport

A holiday feeling from the very first kilometer. If you arrive by train, sit back and enjoy the ride through the Inn Valley to the Jenbach express train station. From there, continue on to Mayrhofen.

For the final leg to Vorderlanersbach, you have a choice: Take the post bus or let our taxi transfer pick you up directly at the Mayrhofen train station.
