Glittering Glacier
Fun in the Snow and Skiing, even in the Summer

The Hintertux Glacier is a spectacular sight even in the summer

If you head out for breakfast in the morning wearing shorts and then get on the bus with your skis, you might get a few surprised looks. Up on the Hintertux Glacier, however, it feels completely normal. At altitudes of up to 3,250 meters, the snow crunches under your skis even in the height of summer. It feels like winter in the summer—only with more hours of sunshine.

Perpetual ice meets summer vibes.

A summer vacation with an extra dose of snow.

Where summer stays pleasantly cool.

First the Hintertux Glacier, then the pool

Nothing is impossible

Night after night, our tireless Pistenbullys ensure that, in the ski resort with Austria’s longest ski season, you’ll find up to 60 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes the next morning.

While elsewhere people are lacing up their hiking boots, here you’re still carving tracks in the snow. Once you’ve had your fill of the snow, it’s time to take off your skis and settle into a cozy afternoon – whether by the pool in the garden, on the golf course, or enjoying another summer activity.

The Wonderful World of Ice in the Zillertal

Natural Ice Palace

Just 200 meters from the highest point of the Hintertux Glacier, the icy journey into the Natural Ice Palace begins. Even the entrance hall, bathed in a mystical glacier blue, gives you a glimpse of what awaits you on the guided tour inside the glacier: magical ice stalactites, huge sparkling ice crystals, frozen waterfalls, and even a glacial lake that you can explore up close on a boat tour.
